MOHOLY: An Education of the Senses is on display at Loyola University Museum of Art (LUMA) located at 820 North Michigan Avenue in Chicago. The exhibition runs from Feb 11-may 9, 2010.

This exhibition, curated by Carol Ehlers, is a celebration of Moholy's vision, bringing to light his art and ideas, which were a revolutionary response to his time, in the community that was his last homeChicago. This retrospective highlights Moholy's toolsart, design, modern technology, and most importantly, lightand sets the stage for visitors to see his transformative vision.

Helen Maria Nugent worked with artist Jan Tichy to design the exhibition, paying special attention to the presentation to his film works. Out goal was to play with light and shadow, incorporating large-scale digital projections to create a contemporary experience for the viewer. Responding directly to the architecture of the space, while referencing Moholy's experimentation with photographic media, we project Moholy's time based work onto large semi-transparent paper screens that are anchored by free-standing studio poles. Painted wall graphics act as a floating subtext alongside wall hung banners that are printed with quotes from Moholy himself. Viewers can tear off a sheet from the wall-mounted sketchpad located in each of the 5 galleries to read specific credits for the work on display alongside a narrative overview by the curator.
