Untitled (View) investigates the relationship between external stimulus and introspection by creating a balance between sensory boredom and perceptual curiosity. The constructed environment, simultaneously contained and expansive, is a place of rumination and daydreaming. The video images lie somewhere between the representational and the ambiguous, allowing the viewer to complete the gap by finding the familiar in the abstract. The interpretation of the images is not infinite, but conditioned by each viewer who lies on the pony-skin chaise. This project was inspired by the contemplation of fleeting phenomena like clouds, smoke, and shadows.
