This series gives light a physical, visceral presence. Aurora Shelves are a display system that wants to be seen.

There is a visual tension between the minimalist form and the highly decorative imagery. Most installations have at least 3 glass shelves that are mounted to the wall with specially designed acrylic, aluminum or stainless steel brackets. The color comes from special filters on the glass which reflect and transmit colored light when lit from above or below by a standard white spotlight. The patterns are created when either the glass or the color filter is etched. There is no visible color on the wall when the shelves are not illuminated. The system is flexible by design; it has been installed in corners, on flat surfaces, and built into cabinets.

The only requirements are a direct light source and a big imagination.
